How long does a hold last?
Each takeover gives a maximum hold of 7 days. Holders can extend before it runs out; if it expires, the seat reopens. Being outbid ends a hold immediately.
Do I need an account?
Yes, a free account. It takes a few seconds and makes sure every supporter is counted once.
What is the supporter advantage?
Once your startup has 100 supporters, you pay 50% less than the current minimum whenever you challenge for the Top Seat.
When is my card charged?
A takeover only authorizes your card. It is charged when your hold period ends without anyone outbidding you. If you are dethroned, the hold is released and you pay nothing.
Is this gambling?
No. There are no random outcomes and no prizes. A takeover buys a promotional placement; support is a voluntary contribution that raises a listing's defense.
What if two startups challenge at once?
Takeovers are processed strictly one at a time on the server. The second one is re-checked against the new defense; if it no longer clears the minimum, it does not go through and is refund-eligible.
Can anyone list a startup?
Any signed-in user can submit one. Listings go live right away and can be suspended by moderation; owners verify their website via DNS, meta tag or email.
What happens to the previous Top Seat?
Its final hold time, defense and supporters are saved to history and records. It can come back at any time by challenging again.
